Manger Scene

I think I may have mentioned this scene last year, too. They've added to it, and it's awesome. It's working its way up to my favorite list. It does look better at night: They've got lights trained on it from inside the "boxes" (false fronts). However, it is hard to get decent pictures at night in the rain, so I'll settle for this for now!

Ikea Christmas Tree

Clearly, a hungry shark is the best possible thing to put on a tree:

This does lend support to the theory that Ikea is a Norse proving-ground for warriors.

These are the Creatures in Your Neighborhood: Bolsa Chica

You know how people are always nagging at you to be careful what you do with your trash?

This is one of the reasons.

Christmas with Hippos and Flamingos!

Three questions:

1) What are the flamingos serving?

2) How much of it have the hippos had?

3) Are they going to invite the pig to the party?

Merry Christmas 2

I thought the dinosaur and Terminator menaced pink house was accidental.  On visiting again, I find I'm leaning toward self-aware goofiness as an explanation.

There's needing to wash your car...

...and there is having a plant take root.

Then again, if I found something had taken root on my car, I'd probably leave it there, too. I might even water and fertilize it.

More Birdhouses

Because it is a beautiful set of houses, and because Mark of 99 Birdhouses asked about the curvy birdhouse, I went back and took more pictures.  It will be interesting to see if they keep adding more houses to the tree as time goes by.

Cute!

Is this a birdhouse for birds or for people?

How did they manage the roof?

Bartlett Park, some more

On one side of the wall, birds of prey hunting other birds and rodents.

On the other, rows and rows of garbage containers for the stores and rows and rows of rat poison.

Christmas Mailboxes

The people in this neighborhood always do an amazing job decorating for the holidays. I always look to see what they've done, and it always makes me smile.

Birdhouse Tree

Not the usual birdhouses at the corner. Still, I think I'll be checking on them from time to time. It looks like these, like the ones on Birdhouse Corner, multiply from time to time.

Isn't this one wonderful?

You'd Better Watch Out/ You'd Better Not Pout

You'd better not cry, I'm telling you why:

Scary Genie's watching you now!

I admit, he's slightly less scary than Evil Genie, but still: Would you want him watching over your holiday cheer?
